The White House has fired back at Donald Trump’s longtime foe, Rosie O’Donnell, after the Emmy winner repeatedly criticized him during her guest-hosting gig on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*.

After O’Donnell bid her temporary stint on Jimmy Kimmel’s show goodbye Thursday night with an epic song slamming Trump, a White House spokesperson provided* * with a statement on the Hollywood icon and former *Rosie O’Donnell Show* host’s return to the talk show format.

“Rosie O’Donnell is a nasty woman and a total slob whose brain has been completely destroyed by Trump Derangement Syndrome,” writes Davis Ingle, a White House representative, in the statement.

A rep for O’Donnell declined to comment on the White House’s statement on the star’s criticism.

O’Donnell embraced the “nasty woman” title on Thursday’s broadcast, during which she introduced herself as “nasty Rosie O’Donnell” before calling Trump “orange Voldemort” and singing a critical song to the tune of “Danny Boy” in her final monologue on Kimmel’s show.

“Oh Donny boy, it’s Rosie, Rosie calling. From Hollywood, the Jimmy Kimmel show. Drop that Big Mac that we all know you’re holding, because, my dear, I worry for you so,” O’Donnell began. “Poor Donny boy, your polls, your polls are falling. Your reflecting pool is green as Mountain Dew. Your wig’s a mess, your ballroom is appalling, and with Iran you bit off more than you can chew.”

O’Donnell finished the song with a call for Trump to resign: “But there’s a way to end this drama. It’s time to use that stable genius brain,” the 64-year-old continued. “Since we all know you’ll never be Obama, why not resign and make this country great again? Yes, we all know you’ll never be Obama. Come on, resign and make this country great again!”

The pair’s ongoing feud has lasted for at least two decades, with their public sparring dating back as far as the comedian and actress’ first tenure on *The View *from 2006-2007 (her second stint was in 2014-2015). Trump also famously criticized O’Donnell in controversial remarks he made during his run for president in 2016.

O’Donnell repeatedly called out Trump in her nightly monologues during guest post on *Kimmel*, particularly pointing out that she thinks he’s watched every night of her run on the ABC talk show hosted by Kimmel, another longtime Trump critic.

O’Donnell previously confirmed that she moved to Ireland ahead of Trump’s second inauguration in early 2025. She returned to America this summer for her one-woman New York City stage show, *Common Knowledge*, and to guest-host *Kimmel*.

Though rumors spread that she’s eyeing a permanent TV comeback, O’Donnell denied speculation that she’ll take over Kimmel’s show. She also explained in a recent episode of the *Tangle* podcast* *that she might soon return to permanent television hosting in a different capacity.

“I suppose, because the syndication market is pretty much dead, I think I would be open to doing it on a streaming service,” O’Donnell said on the show. “My agents are taking meetings and figuring out what would be the best option, and it would be when Trump is no longer in power. That’s when I’d want it to start, and that’s when the healing must begin.”

Though Trump and the White House have hit back at O’Donnell, the star’s return to TV has won fans in Hollywood and beyond, with O’Donnell revealing earlier this week that she got a supportive message from her idol Barbra Streisand praising her time on *Kimmel*.
