During the Monday, April 6 broadcast, Savannah was cheered on by fans as she stepped onto the *Today *show plaza, where fans waited to welcome her back. Fans, bundled up in jackets, brought signs that Savannah called "so beautiful," to celebrate her return.
"You guys have been so beautiful," she continued, holding back tears. "I've received so many letters, so much kindness, to me and my whole family. We feel it. We feel your prayers. So thank you so much, thank you."**

Savannah's cohost, Carson Daly, pointed out that fans have been showing up every day for her, while Al Roker handed her a pocket square to wipe her tears. "This is such a nice pocket square," she said, joking that she didn't "want to slobber on it."
When returning to the news desk on Monday, Savannah told cohost Craig Melvin, "It is good to be home." Before she dove into the news of the day, she declared, "Here we go. Ready or not, let's do the news."**

Savannah's mom, Nancy, was last seen on Jan. 31 at her home in Arizona. A public information officer told ** in February that "investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Taken against her will includes possible kidnapping or abduction."**
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in an interview in late March that the investigation into Nancy's disappearance remains ongoing. "We have so much in front of us. And we believe we have good evidence in front of us," Nanos said. "Will that dry up? Could I be wrong? Absolutely. Anything is possible, but we’re not giving up."
The Guthrie family increased the reward for Nancy's return to $1 million.

Savannah sat down for an interview with Hoda Kotb which aired in late March, speaking about the night Nancy went missing and how her family was coping amid the tragedy.
She also spoke about returning to *Today*, which gave her purpose. "It's hard to imagine doing it because it's such a place of joy and lightness, and I can't come back and try to be something that I'm not," she said. "But I can't not come back because it's my family. I think it's part of my purpose right now."
