Rob Reiner's daughter, Tracy Reiner, is speaking out after the deaths of the actor/filmmaker and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

Tracy, Rob's adopted daughter from his marriage to ex-wife Penny Marshall, told NBC News that the sudden passing of her father and his wife has left her stunned. Tracy appeared in Reiner's *When Harry Met Sally* and *The Sure Thing*, among other films.

"I came from the greatest family ever," she told the outlet. "I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock."

Prolific actor and director Rob, 78, and his photographer wife, Michele, 68, were found dead in their home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon in an apparent double homicide, with TMZ reporting that they died from alleged knife wounds.

Nick Reiner, Rob and Michele's 32-year-old son, was arrested on Sunday night and taken into custody at 5 a.m. Monday for an alleged felony charge. He is being held on a $4 million bail, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department records.

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner," the Reiner family said in a statement to *Variety*. "We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time."

The son of comedy legend Carl Reiner, Rob's wide-ranging Hollywood career in front of and behind the camera spans more than 50 years. He first rose to fame in the 1970s for his Emmy-winning performance as Michael "Meathead" Stivic on the groundbreaking sitcom *All in the Family*, and went on to star in classic films *A Few Good Men, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, Misery, *and* The Wolf of Wall Street. *He also appeared in TV shows, including* New Girl *and* The Bear.*

He made his directorial debut with 1984’s seminal mockumentary *This Is Spinal Tap *(and returned to direct 2025’s *Spinal Tap II: The End Continues*). He went on to direct many films, including *When Harry Met Sally*, which is where he first met Michele. Rob later said their meeting convinced him to change the movie's ending.

Rob and Michele got married in 1989 and went on to welcome three children together: Nick, Jake, and Romy.
