Kayshon Boutte has worked out away from the team during OTAs, but he isn't completely unplugged from everything going on in New England. And it's a lot when considering the team's blockbuster trade on Monday for three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown.

The addition of Brown and Romeo Doubs to the roster has many wondering if Boutte will still be on the team for the 2026 season. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel spoke as if it's business as usual in that regard when addressing media members last week.

And the same could be said for Boutte, who reacted to the trade news by sharing the graphic of Brown being welcomed to New England on his Instagram page.

Boutte is playing in the final year of his rookie contract, and his production could take an even bigger hit on the Patriots' roster in 2026. He was down to 46 targets last season, resulting in a stat line of 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns.

Along with the arrival of Brown and Doubs, the team still has Kyle Williams, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Efton Chism III. So it will be a fight for targets on offense.

An underwhelming stat line could have a serious impact on Boutte's future earning potential in free agency next year. Can the two sides make it work for one more season, or is a split inevitable after the recent moves? The biggest domino to fall was the Brown trade, but it might not be the last for New England.
