Millie Bobby Brown Speaks Candidly About Motherhood After Welcoming Daughter, Says the Love Is ‘Incomprehensible’

Millie Bobby Brown opened up about her motherhood journey in a new video shared by UNICEF on Monday, June 1

"People say they love their children. I don’t understand how that much happens in my heart. I don’t know how the feeling is so overwhelming. It’s just incomprehensible," Brown shared

The actress and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, welcomed their daughter via adoption in the summer of 2025 after quietly marrying in May 2024

Millie Bobby Brown is getting candid about motherhood.

The Enola Holmes 3star, 22, opened up about raising her daughter — whom she welcomed via adoption in the summer of 2025 with her husband Jake Bongiovi, 24 — in a new UNICEF video, which the charity shared on Instagram on Monday, June 1.

The actress, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, admitted that there have been times when she’s felt unsure during parenthood, sharing that it usually happens when she sees her child do something new.

“They are doing something and you’re like, ‘Is that normal? Do they do that?’ And you know, I’ll call my [mom]. She’s just like my 911. ‘[Mom], did I do this? Did my siblings do this?’ And she is like, ‘Oh, that’s completely normal. They do that all the time,’ ” Brown shared in the clip, which has been released as part of UNICEF's “My Parenting Journey” series.

“[It’s] so great. I’m honored to have support,” she added. “And if I can’t call her, I call my mother-in-law. She is just like the same way. It’s so nice to hear reassurance.”

Brown and Bongiovi, who quietly married in May 2024, have a parenting motto, which is to “take it one day at a time.”

"My husband and I always say, 'Today was today and tomorrow is going to be tomorrow, and let's just sleep.' You just take it day by day," Brown said in the clip.

The Stranger Things star also revealed in the video that she and her daughter share a “love” of food, insisting that is their “love language together.”

“We just love to sit there and eat,” she said. “She always wants to try what I'm having and I'm always eating what she's having.”

The actress noted that her life has “changed in a lot of ways” since becoming a mother and that her focus has shifted toward helping her daughter believe that she can achieve anything.

“I just try to learn as much as I can and feed it into her life, so that she knows nothing other than girls supporting girls, women succeeding, women achieving their dreams and living in a world and building a world for her – that isn’t unrealistic but it sets a standard for her to know that she shouldn't settle for anything less," Brown said in the video.

The mom of one admitted that no one prepared her for “the love” she would feel for her child.

“People say they love their children. I don’t understand how that much happens in my heart. I don’t know how the feeling is so overwhelming. It’s just incomprehensible,” she said.

Brown and Bongiovi announced that they'd welcomed a "sweet baby girl” via adoption on Instagram in a joint post in August 2025, writing, "We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy."

Brown then shared a peek of their little one in October, posting a carousel of photos on her Instagram, which included a picture of the actress, her husband and their baby girl.

The threesome appeared to be on the It's a Small World ride at one of the Disney parks and cuddled together for the sweet photo. Brown and Bongiovi had their heads leaning on each other, staring down at their baby. Brown had blurred her daughter's face.

"My t swift october 🍁," Brown wrote in her caption at the time.

The star then spoke about motherhood in her British Vogue December cover story.

"It's been a beautiful, amazing journey — she's taught us so much already," Brown told the outlet. "Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It's just endless joy."
