The legend's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, who played the main role, has also spoken about the possibility of a second film.

The first movie centers around Michael Jackson's early life and how his journey eventually turned him into one of the world’s biggest music stars. And if there's a sequel, it will allow viewers to look into the later chapters of Michael Jackson's life as he faced serious allegations and intense public scrutiny.

And then after almost a decade, Michael Jackson faced a separate criminal case that went to trial in 2005. He was acquitted of all charges, meaning the jury did not find him guilty in that criminal proceeding. His estate has continued to deny that he committed wrongdoing.

But then again, Jaafar Jackson said that Michael 2 could highlight the story from his uncle's perspective. The sequel could give a chance to reveal what the singer went through and how he handled those allegations and public scrutiny.

Jaafar Jackson wants Michael 2 to show Michael Jackson’s side of the story

During his conversation with GQ, Jaafar Jackson offered some insights into what Michael 2 could explore. He suggested that the sequel could give audiences more of Michael’s own perspective on the controversies that surrounded him. He said:

"I think the second film will give even more insight from his point of view, because at the end of the day, [the allegations] are always from someone else’s. It’s someone else’s story. It’s someone else’s idea of what it is, and it’s mainly driven by an agenda."

Jaafar Jackson continued:

"And that’s really the issue we’ve been having as a family – not having Michael’s voice being heard. I think that’s very, very important, especially in the late years."

Jackson explained that much of the public discussion about the allegations has come through accounts and interpretations provided by other people. He feels Michael’s own voice has received less attention and believes thatMichael 2 should highlight his uncle's perspective.

He also explained that the first film revealed who Michael Jackson was before his success and how his life changed, and a sequel will give a chance to put more light on the pressure and controversies that surrounded the King of Pop.

The actor also said that his uncle never stopped being kind to others:

"... No matter all the stuff he went through, how he was treated, or what things were said about him, he never stopped treating people with kindness."

This is the actor's personal view on his late uncle and music legend. Overall, Jaafar Jackson expects Michael 2 to not just focus on the allegations and the discussions, but also how it affected the singer and his experience facing them.
