Jalen Brunson is both the captain of the New York Knicks and a proud dad.
The NBA player married his wife, Ali Brunson, in a July 2023 Chicago ceremony. The pair met at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill., and dated for 10 years before tying the knot. They welcomed their first child together, daughter Jordyn, in July 2024.
Speaking with PEOPLE in February 2026, Ali shared that while Jalen is dedicated to basketball, he doesn't bring his work home.
"He comes home, and he is my husband, or the father to my child. He keeps personal life in the house and basketball doesn't really come in, that's not really our conversation," she said. "Good game, bad game, he leaves it at the arena when he comes home, that's how we separate things. And that's how we keep our relationship super personal."
Now, as Jalen and the Knicks attempt to beat the San Antonio Spurs to win their first championship in 53 years, Ali and Jordyn will be cheering him on.

The pair kept their baby news private until they announced the birth in August. Then, Jalen shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram of the newborn holding his finger, captioning the post with her name and birthdate.
She occasionally attends her dad's games
Jordyn can occasionally be spotted attending Knicks games at Madison Square Garden with her parents.
Speaking with PEOPLE in February 2026, Ali shared that bringing their daughter to Jalen's games is a "surreal" experience. While Jordyn can't attend late-night games, she's on hand for important moments, such as Jalen being named captain of the Knicks in 2024.
"He had a whole ceremony for it. I think I was one week postpartum, and we came with Jordyn for it," Ali said. "She was hiding in the back. She came out to celebrate for just a second, and then we went back home. I didn't want her to miss it."

She wears matching outfits with her mom

When Jordyn does attend Jalen's basketball games, she's usually sporting a matching outfit with Ali. In April 2026, the fitness program founder posted photos of her and Jordyn wearing jean jackets with Jalen's jersey number "11" on the back and a cursive "b."
Ali told PEOPLE in February 2026 that wearing mother-daughter outfits with Jordyn is the "most ideal" uniform for games.
Jalen has sneakers inspired by his daughter

Jalen debuted a new pair of Nike Kobe 5 PE sneakers in April 2026, which were inspired by one of his daughter's heart onesies.
The pink sneakers have a heart pattern and feature Jordyn's initials and birthdate on the back.
Ali shared that Jordyn has a matching pair when she posted a video of their toddler and Jalen walking backstage at a Knicks game.
She's had viral interactions with her dad at games
Jordyn's father-daughter interactions with Jalen at his games have garnered social media attention. In April 2026, the NBA shared a TikTok of the Knicks captain going for a walk with his daughter on the court at Madison Square Garden.
The following month, Jordyn adorably interrupted Jalen during a post-game press conference. She yelled "Hi, Dada!" while he was answering a question, which prompted a laugh from the basketball player, per an NBA TikTok.
Jalen uses a camcorder to capture moments with his daughter

During a June 2025 episode of his podcast Roommates Show, Jalen shared that he prefers to capture special moments with his daughter on a camcorder.
"I got an old camcorder, because me and my sister, I found old videos of us when we were kids. I was like, 'Damn.' It was like nostalgic," he said. "So I got an old camcorder, and I try to record like 30 seconds to a minute of just like little things. Just to have, right? So I've been doing that."
Jalen added that he prefers using a camcorder instead of his phone because it's "just hard" to scroll through a lot of content to find one video.
