Kelly Osbourne is reflecting on the “sadness” of losing her father Ozzy Osbourne eight months on from his death.
On Tuesday, April 7, the star, 41, shared a series of somber posts to her Instagram Stories about her grief. One read, “You think life is hard? Wait until you can’t call your dad anymore,” against the backdrop of a setting sky.
In a second post, she shared a quote from the late actor Robin Williams that read, “I think people who have been through the most sadness are the ones who try hardest to make others happy."

"Because they know in their flesh what it’s like to feel empty and depressed, and they don’t want anyone else to feel that way,” the quote continued.
When Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy died in July 2025, Kelly paid an emotional tribute to her dad, calling him “the best friend I ever had.”

Two days after the musician’s death, Kelly shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song "Changes," which she and Ozzy recorded as a duet together in 2003, to her Instagram Stories, including the poignant line.
Ozzy's family announced his passing with a statement signed by Kelly, her mother Sharon, her brothers Louis and Jack, and her sister Aimee.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the statement read. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
Just last month, mom of one Kelly visited her father’s grave at his home in Buckinghamshire, England. And when she shared an Instagram Stories post from the occasion, she called losing her dad, “the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life.”
Kelly's visit to her father's grave comes less than two weeks after she attended the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester to collect a lifetime achievement award on Ozzy's behalf alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne.

Meanwhile, at the 2026 Grammys in February, there was a star-studded tribute dedicated to Ozzy, and while speaking with PEOPLE on the event’s red carpet, Kelly said it was a "beautiful thing that his peers are showing their love and respect for his work tonight."
She went on to call her father, “one of the greatest men to ever live [on] the planet.”
