Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrated 23 years of marriage on Sunday, May 31

Joanna shared several photos of the couple throughout their relationship on Instagram to mark the marriage milestone

The couple, who share five kids, wed in Waco, Texas, in 2003

Chip and Joanna Gaines are celebrating 23 years of marriage.

Joanna, 48, and Chip, 51, said "I do" on May 31, 2003, in Waco, Texas. In honor of their latest wedding anniversary on Sunday, Joanna shared a sweet tribute to her husband on Instagram alongside photos of the couple throughout their relationship.

"My forever home sweet home ❤️ Happy Anniversary @chipgaines #23," Joanna wrote.

Joanna shared 15 photos with Chip, spanning from the early days of their relationship to now, which she set to "Forever in Blue Jeans" by Neil Diamond. Photos ranged from formal black-and-white shots from the Magnolia Network founders' wedding day to casual snaps of the pair out and about.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2022 about her favorite wedding memory, Joanna shared, "My favorite moment is when we said goodbye to everybody, got in the limo and ate so much food."

"Weddings are kind of scripted, and you're doing a lot. You can forget why you're really there. And for me, I was really there because I wanted to be with Chip," she recalled. "It will always be my favorite memory — when that limo door shut and we just ate like kids with our hands. It was beef Wellington, mashed potatoes and two different kinds of cake."

Chip didn't mark the wedding anniversary on his social media, but for Joanna's birthday in April, he gushed on Instagram that she's his "ride or die," "partner in crime," and "favorite person to have by [his] side."

Since tying the knot, the Fixer Upper stars have welcomed five children: sons Drake, 21, Duke, 18, and Crew, 7; and daughters Ella, 19, and Emmie, 16.

The proud parents of fiveexclusively spoke to PEOPLE last year about how they keep their marriage fresh after two decades, explaining that their willingness to try new things as a couple has helped them foster an even stronger connection.

"Anytime you unlock a new thing, and you do it together, it only grows your relationship,” Joanna explained at the time, citing dance lessons as an example.

The Stories We Tell author added that new activities help her and Chip see a side of each other that they have never seen before. She said, "You see insecurities, you see strengths, and it's like, ‘Oh, that's a new awakening.' "
