Michael Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson performs some of the King of Pop's greatest hits in the latest trailer for Michael.
On Wednesday, April 8, Lionsgate released a final trailer for Michael ahead of the movie's April 24 release. The trailer showcases Jaafar, the 29-year-old nephew of pop star who died at 50 in 2009, singing his uncle's hits like "Beat It," "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough," throughout the star's decades-long career in pop music. The trailer also teased that Jaafar will depict his uncle's life through the 2000s.
Jaafar is the son of Jermaine Jackson, one of Michael's brothers and a member of The Jackson 5. Jermaine, 71, was married to Jaafar's mother between 1995 and 2003. Jaafar makes his acting debut in the biopic from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua.
The movie also features supporting performances from Miles Teller, who portrays Jackson's lawyer and manager John Branca, as well as Colman Domingo as Michael’s father and manager, Joe, Nia Long as Michael’s mother, Katherine, and Kat Graham as fellow Motown star Diana Ross, among others.

Jaafar recently shared in an Interview magazine conversation with costar Teller, 39, that he did not tell his immediate family that he was cast to play his uncle "for a full year" after he won the role. "Going into it I tried my best to say, 'I’m going to just try to watch without critiquing anything,' " the actor said with a laugh, when Teller asked him to describe his feelings on watching the movie for the first time.

"As soon as it came on, it was a completely different experience than what I thought it was going to be. It went by so fast," Jaafar added. "I was like, 'Wait, that’s it?' But the second time I saw it was a completely different experience."

"I was able to understand what the story is and really allow myself to enjoy what’s on the screen, rather than thinking of all the things we shot that aren’t in there. Because that was my problem the first time. I was like, 'Where’s all that footage?' "
Michael hits theaters Friday, April 24.
