The '90s were a special time for rock music. There was an edge, grit, and rawness to the music both emotionally and sonically that helped make it one of the most iconic decades for the genre. The wave of grunge, shoegaze, post rock, and metal that emerged in that time defined a generation of kids who grew up with it and have become important to me as well. One of those bands to emerge from the rough grit of the decade is Bush, who defined the post-grunge sound of the late '90s.

Forming in 1992, Bush started in England with lead singer Gavin Rossdale. Coming across the members over the pan of a year, the band eventually signed with Hollywood Records, but they lost their agreement with the label after internal issues at the company. Eventually, Interscope Records would release their iconic debut album "Sixteen Stone."

Arguably, this is the Bush album. All of the hits you know or grew up with are on this project. "Comedown," "Machine Head," and of course, "Glycerine" are all featured. These are the defining tracks of the band and have given them both success, and longevity. The album peaked at number four on the top two-hundred chart, and spawned two top 40 singles in "Comedown" and "Glycerine."

Years later, the band is still at it and touring. Fans were recently shocked by the band at a concert, where they got to see how the group has aged, especially now that lead singer Gavin Rossdale is 60 years old.

"He's 60, BTW 🤣😂," the top comment reads. I'm sure you all were shocked, too. He hasn't aged one bit in his sound. Other fans took tot he comments to react.

"Gorgeous🥰. I love this soooo much!💙"

"One of my favorite bands."

Despite the incredible talent on display, it seems that Rossdale has some concerns about his age. In a recent interview with The Paper, Rossdale said:

"Aging is a f**king drag. The wisdom, clarity and perspective that comes with it is really helpful, though. When I turned 40, I was so embarrassed and terrified, I thought: “It’s all over. No one cares.” Here I am, 20 years later. The only thing that bothers me is that I’m going to be a burden in 25 years."

From us here at Parade, you're aging like fine wine, and it will be nothing but a gift to have your music still in 25 years.
