The first major championship of the golf season is here. The Masters returns for its landmark 90th edition this year, beginning today, Thursday, April 9 and running through Sunday, April 12.
After 17 years of heartbreak, Rory McIlroy finally experienced victory at Augusta National last year, completing his career Grand Slam. The 2025 Masters win also made him the sixth golfer in history—and the first European—to win all four professional major championships. (The other three being the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the British Open.)
McIlroy is back this year with the goal of defending his crown (and Green Jacket). He’ll be up against some stiff competition, including the previous year’s winner, American Scottie Scheffler, who once again is favored to win. (Betting favorites going into the Masters is a big deal.) Only three golfers have ever won back-to-back Masters tournaments; the last one to do so was Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002. Other potential winners include Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Brooks Koepka, and Collin Morikawa.
Here’s how to watch the 2026 Masters:
The Masters is considered the most traditional of the four major championships, but it’s about to enter the modern era. (No, cell phones will still not be allowed on the course.) But the tournament is entering its streaming era thanks to a new deal with Amazon. Coverage is still split across many platforms, including radio on SiriusXM, so there are multiple viewing opportunities. Here’s how to tune in for each round. All times below eastern.
