*The Devil Wears Prada 2*'s secretive poker face is down: Lady Gaga has surprise-released a new song with rapper Doechii in the most recent preview of the long-awaited sequel starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.
In the final trailer (below) released ahead of the movie's May 1 theatrical bow, Gaga — whom ** also previously confirmed has a small role in the upcoming film — teams with Doechii for the single "Runway," an original song that was written for the soundtrack of the film.
"I can turn the dance floor into a runway," Doechii raps on the track, while Gaga sings, "You were born for the runway" over a classic dance beat.
The trailer also reveals a few more plot details about *The Devil Wears Prada 2*, which sees ruthless *Runway* magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Streep) re-team with her former underling, Andy Sachs (Hathaway) to combat a series of scandals involving declining reader interest in the fashion bible.
With help from fellow former *Runway* assistant Emily (Blunt) and Priestly's loyal right-hand man, Nigel (Tucci), the pair appear to be on the right track to salvaging the publication's reputation — unless, as it's teased in the preview, Andy goes through with writing an exposé-style book about Priestly's professional demeanor.
Though most of the main cast and crew (including director David Frankel, writer Aline Brosh McKenna, and producer Wendy Finerman) returned to make a sequel to the wildly popular Oscar-nominated 2006 original, EW previously exclusively reported that actor Adrian Grenier (who played Andy's love interest, Nate) would not return for the 2026 sequel.
We later exclusively revealed that *Evil*'s Patrick Brammall would replace Grenier as Andy's love interest, amid a score of new cast members including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and Gaga, among others.

Based on writer Lauren Weisberger's novel of the same name, *The Devil Wears Prada* drew inspiration from Weisberger's time working under former *Vogue* head Anna Wintour, whom Streep recently learned she was genetically related to following an Ancestry.com study.
“Well THAT explains EVERYTHING," Streep told EW last week in an exclusively statement on the news. "As our ancestors would say, I am chuffed!"
In EW's 15th anniversary oral history cast reunion in 2021, the cast and crew revealed that the movie's team meticulously crafted Priestly's office in the vein of Wintour's.

"Anna came to the first screening in New York. She sat right in front of me and David with her daughter and wore Prada, which shows she has a great sense of humor!" McKenna told EW during the conversation.
Director Frankel added, "I remember her daughter nudging her through the screening, like, 'They got that right!' … A couple years later, I was at a tennis tournament in Miami … seated behind her, and when it was over, I made the effort to introduce myself — 'I'm David Frankel, the director of *The Devil Wears Prada*' — and [she took her] hand out of [my handshake]!"
*The Devil Wears Prada 2* is in theaters May 1. Watch the final trailer above.
